The Monetary Diversity Gathering (MDG) is one of the largest international convenings dedicated to monetary innovation. The second edition takes place in Brussels from October 23 to 25, 2026, bringing together more than 100 professionals for three working days of sessions, roundtables and cross-sector exchange.

Three days, three themes:

Friday: Municipal & Public Monies — cities, territorial resilience, ethical banking, the digital euro, mutual credit

Saturday: The Diversity of Money — time banking, LETS, complementary currencies and social economy, UBI, food security

Sunday: The Future of Money — regenerative economics, post-growth finance, commons, DAOs and decentralised governance

This gathering is for you if you work in public finance or territorial development, lead a complementary currency initiative, research monetary systems, represent a municipality reclaiming monetary leverage, or build fintech meant to serve communities rather than extract from them.

Organised by Monetary Diversity (MoDi), an international network of 70+ partner organisations across 31 countries. Part of the EU-funded Local for Local programme, co-funded by the European Commission under grant agreement No. 101135443.
