Leander Bindewald gained a Diploma in Neurobiology (2007) and a Masters in Philosophy and Economics (2009) from the University of Freiburg and has since worked on the topic of currency diversity in various countries in Europe and North America. From 2012 to 2015 he worked as a consultant on complementary currencies with the New Economics Foundation , an independent Think Tank for a post-growth economy and sustainable economic systems in London and was the project manager for its EU-supported research project “Community Currencies in Action” (CCIA). Since then, he has completed a PhD at the Institute for Leadership and Sustainability at the University of Cumbria and worked as an independent collaborator for MONNETA.
